Whatcom Community College (WCC) presents: Securing the Next Generation of Technology Workers. Industry and academic representatives are invited to attend, network, and discuss cybersecurity workforce needs.

In an era where technology and cybersecurity are paramount concerns for businesses, the upcoming event presents a crucial opportunity for companies to shape their hiring pipelines for tomorrow. There will be a panel discussion on Building Your Bench. Every great sports team has a good bench of players ready to play at any moment. The panel features cybersecurity experts from across sectors who have built great benches by offering internships, apprenticeships, and opportunities for current employees to upskill. Panelists include cybersecurity experts from companies like Boeing, the Cloud Security Alliance, the WA state Auditors Office, and more.

The keynote address will be by Jim Reavis – the CEO of Cloud Security Alliance – a global non-profit research organization that is focused on advancing next-generation IT security best practices. He will speak about how new technologies like artificial intelligence and cloud are impacting cybersecurity protocols and the workforce skills of the future.
